The Paperback Piano
I recently read Out of the Shadows by Dana Fraedrich (which incidentally turned out to be my 100th book of the year!) It is a steampunk adventure following feisty heroine Lenore and a fantastic cast of characters. You can check out my spoiler-free review here.
Dana was kind enough to agree to an interview which I’m delighted to be presenting to you now! Make sure you read right to the end for an exclusive reveal… 😉
Other than the fact she's a Virginia native that currently resides in Tennessee, Dana Fraedrich is a mystery. Yes, everything about her is short and sweet.
It took a little digging, but AURi managed to find a few facts about this young adult fantasy author to support our "short and sweet" theory.
In a picture feature on Where the Reader Grows we noticed a picture of her standing nearly eye-level with Yoda while Darth towered over her. Short.
Chandra, the interview her described Dana as one of the sweetest people she has met on Instagram. Sweet.
Exhibit B: Okay, so there's no Exhibit B because we had to keep it short and sweet. But, we are certain that our theory will prove true.
Dana is no stranger to interviews. So, AURi had to turn up the heat...
Where The Reader Grows
Hey hey everyone!! Have you met Dana yet? No? Well here's your chance! She's one of the sweetest people I've met on Instagram and has published not one, not two, but THREE books! I have a copy of Out of the Shadows in my hands that I will be reading and reviewing later in the year, but I couldn't wait to put a little spotlight on this cutie. Look below for synopses on her books, a Q&A I had with her AND an upcoming word prompt challenge for the month of April on Bookstagram! 🙌 She's been one busy bee!
The Fussy Librarian
Dana Fraedrich has been a fantasy writer her entire life (just ask her sixth-grade teachers), but she’ll tell you that magic doesn’t just happen on the pages — it happens off, as well. Or, rather, that the pages themselves are magic. Fraedrich’s proudest moment so far as an indie author was the first time she held a printed copy of one of her books — “it’s pure magic,” she says. She’s gotten to repeat that thrill several times, with three published works under her belt and more to come, now that she’s a full-time writer. We recently chatted with her about the journey from young scribbler to published author.
Virginia born and raised indie author Dana Fraedrich was just thirteen when she began writing. She published her first novel, Skateboards, Magic, and Shamrocks, at the age of 27 and went on to release a sequel, Heroes, Legends and Villains. She fills us on how she handles the editing process, researching explosives and the importance of connecting with fellow writers.
